14 July 2016

Water rationing is set to continue in the city of Lilongwe due to low water levels in Kamuzu Dam I and II which are the only source of water for the Lilongwe Water Board. Over the past few weeks the board has been notifying the public through newspaper adverts on the water rationing schedule for the city. Today The Nation newspaper carried an advert in which the Lilongwe Water Board is informing the public about the predicted water volumes in Kamuzu Dam I and II and explains that the current water rationing schedule is amongest its strategies to sustain supply until the next rainy season. The Board presents the current water volumes, the net predicted water volumes and the actual volumes depending on consumption levels which indicate that there is serious water supply shortage.
